More on Palmdale racist attack on student by school guard

Another local news station has more details on the brutal racist attack by a school guard on a student, and the arrest of her, her mother, a student who filmed the guard’s attack and the photographer’s sister:

Student Gets Broken Arm in Melee with School Security Guards

PALMDALE, CA — Parents and students at Knight High School in Palmdale, California are upset over an incident in which three teenagers and a mother were arrested last Thursday after a melee with security guards, prompting an investigation into the guards’ behavior.

The incident came on the heels of a birthday celebration during the school’s lunch hour, at some point the birthday cake was dropped, spurring a domino effect of mayhem.

A cell phone video taken by a student showed a 16-year-old student arrested by campus police.

According to the student, she had dropped the cake and subsequently cleaned it up.

When the security guard told her to clean up a part of the mess that was overlooked, a verbal altercation ensued — and quickly turned physical.Guard attacks student

The security guard then grabbed her by the arm as she was headed towards her next class, the student said.

The student said that the security guard was so overzealous in twisting her arms despite her pleas otherwise that he wound up breaking her wrist — which is cast-bound.

The security guard called her a “nappy-head,” the student said.

The student said that when the security guard realized the incident was being recorded, he tackled the student taking the video.

When that student’s sister tried to intervene, she too was injured and now has a brace on her arm.

And the plot thickens.

When the arrested student’s mother arrived at the school, she was subsequently arrested for allegedly battering the principal.

The mother has subsequently said that the incident has caused a disruption in her life, mainly as a result of explaining the issue of prejudice to her daughter.

Another parent, Serena Ochoa, said that she has complained about the guards before.

The student is currently expelled and will attend a hearing to determine her future status with the school.

This case is a perfect example of “The fruit not falling far from the tree.” Of the nearly 3000+ plus who attend that school, the only students who have a problem with security are those that are chronically in trouble. Students who attend school to learn and obey the rules do not have a problem with authority. The truth of the matter is, the young-lady didn’t just become a problem, she’s been a problem all throughout her school years. It’s unfortunate that that can’t be brought out. As for Islamic HOPE, SCLC, and the NAACP, their credibility becomes questionable when they have “knee-jerk” reaction rather than fully seek the facts of the incidents. When you tend to believe everything you hear rather than investigate, you end up with egg on your face and your credibility questioned. The very next time a “Real” racial incident occurs, you’re less effective because of the previous “Big News Story” that ended up being false, thus the lack of a broken arm or wrist as proven by the ER doctors evaluation. Of course the mother claims he’s lying. The person with the Medical degree is going to jeopardize his livelihood to boaster your claim? I think not!

Anyone with any common sense knows that the first couple months of school administrators and security are very busy identifying the “problem children” that the feeder school were happy to just “pass on.” Once those students have been identified, counseled, suspended, or expelled, the rest of the school year goes by smooth (as will be the case at Pete Knight) since some problem children have been removed.

Teaching and training begins at home. I’d rather those students that are prone to disrupt class be sent to school with other kids just like them. Teachers can’t teach good values and morals when there’s non being taught at the home. Besides, if the teach something that’s not being taught at home, the parent(s) will more than likely re-act in the manner of Ms. Majors, thus causing her to be arrested along with her daughter. Imagine that. Now she’s sitting at home trying to figure out a way to make this a money making incident seeing that she’s now jobless. The first to know that their child is bad is the parent! So she knew before she arrived at the school that her daughter had a behavior problem. It’s sad that some parents use their own children to benefit themselves. Rather than help her daughter, she’s preaching that this incident was racially motivated. I guess watched other students throughout the day having a food fight, but waited until the black students decided to join in, that’s when they decided to intervene. I think not.

our social studies class was studying current events and found this article. how does tony know that this particular student was in trouble before, and even if she was….does this justify the fact that they called her nappy head and broke her wrists????we would like to know who Tony is and if he is one of the guilty parties?

Poor student.. Nonetheless, I don’t think anyone should overuse authority and power!

No where does it say this girl was a troublemaker. Tony is just trying to blame the victim for this ocurrance. His apologist attitude is disturbing but expected from the dominate culture that is too guilty to realize the problems they give others. This case will get attention on facebook and other blogs now that I know about it!
