I’m in the Blue Ridge mountains in northeast Georgia where a realtor told me our homeless are not on the streets because they’re living in the mountains. These tent cities across our country immediately bring Steinbeck to mind, and their emergence should be communicated far more thoroughly, so that our Salvation Army and Red Cross and nationwide religious organizations can provide relief in the blanket coverage necessary. Also think the feds should set up emergency volunteer corps to reach every single tent city.
