real change does NOT come from WITHIN: obama has been successful within the establishment, hand-picked and groomed by neo-con AIPAC zionists such as brezinski as a useful tool. real change can only come OUTSIDE the establishment, the tiny elite of 400 or so families that own much of the wealth and power of the nation and beyond. no elite in human history has ever surrendered their power on a silver platter with a heart-felt apology to the people.

IMO people should stop this crazy bickering. This president has been in office less then six months and he has accomplished alot. First of all, none of us have the information he has to make his decisions. Second I support the military trials for the suspects who have been tortured or abused. If there is also evidence they are still a danger to America. Does anyone want these people released to harm us again? Third, I support him on his decision to close Gitmo and I'm sure his final report will pass congress.

I am a liberal but I am frustrated, angry and ashamed at the behavior of some of the far left liberals and progressives. For pete sakes, stop acting like children who want things now, or you will throw a hissy fit. Please give this president four years to get things done, please. All you are doing is giving the MSM something to talk about to try to divide us. Is this what you want? Do you want a far right Repulican in the White House after eight years that they have screwed up America? I just don't get it, I really don't.

I think it is a little early to be judging president Obama, it's been like three months. The Democratic party is backing away like every other timid person, they wouldn't back the funding to close down Guantanamo. There is also a bigger threat to the safety and civil liberties of Americans. The War on Drugs has been a failure, 872,721 marijuana users were arrested in 2008! That is more people than the entire population of South Dakota. I really don't care how they're treating terrorists when my own countrymen are being imprisoned because of social beliefs and not scientific ones.
Let's secure our freedom and our rights before we start standing up for suspected terrorists.

While I definitely do NOT approve of the way Bush 3.0 is slashing and burning through all his promises and everyone's expectations, I still feel it's the better choice given it was either Obama and "Bless His Heart" Biden or "Bombs Away" McCain and that Alaskan twit.
Still---if we had wanted another Bush in office, I do believe there are more of those particular vermin roaming around. I was viciously attacked for referring to Obama as Bush 3.0 but if he doesn't want to be called it, he should stop acting like it. He also needs to quit recycling Bush's speeches. Just because he can pronounce the words and make it sound better, doesn't mean there aren't people out here that still remember them from the last moron in office.

Except Obama made the statement "we do not torture" and then banned torture. That's why he's different from Bush and it's really the important bit. Not that it isn't tragic that justice won't come to Bush era criminals but to announce that Obama is as bad as Bush for his refusal to prosecute out of office policymakers is just stupid, although he did condemn their actions. The people who screwed up the past 8 years won't go to prison in any reality, even one where Obama is politically suicidal. Get over it and drop the moral outrage.

I am now at the point where I actually consider asking--should I have voted for McCain. Perhaps there would have been more resistance to his policies. Scary that I actually am wondering.
